Activate your Microsoft 365 account in the new APRA tenant

This guide explains how to activate your Microsoft 365 account in the new APRA tenant using the temporary credentials provided. On first login, you will be required to change the password and set up a two-factor authentication method (MFA).
Below is the video of the procedure as well as the step-by-step guide: 

Access Microsoft 365

  1. Go to https://www.office.com and click Sign in.

  2. Enter the temporary credentials

    Enter the email address and the temporary password you received in the required fields.

  3. Change the temporary password

    The system will mandatory require you to replace the temporary password with a new permanent one.

  4. Set up two-factor authentication (MFA)

    You will be prompted to install the Microsoft Authenticator app. To use an alternative method, click I want to set up a different method (bottom left).

    IdeaTip: You can choose between third-party apps (e.g., Google Authenticator), personal email, or mobile phone number (SMS or call).

    Option A – Personal email

    Select Email, enter your personal email address.

    Once you receive the activation code, the setup will be complete:

    Option B – SMS on mobile phone

    Select Text message (SMS), choose the international prefix and enter your mobile number.

    Confirm the 6-digit code received via SMS.

    Option C – Phone call

    Select Phone call, enter your mobile number and answer the automated call by pressing # when prompted.

  5. Activation complete

    Once the chosen method has been verified, your Microsoft 365 account will be activated and ready to use.
